I wouldn't believe a word that comes out of Nancy Pelosi's pie-hole. She got the job she has because she's not ashamed to say anything, whether true or not, as long as it's partisan.
I think Nancy Pelosi is a lot more credible than anything the administration or Michael Brown could say at this point.
And what exactly gives Pelosi credibility other than she says things you like to hear?

You think Pelosi would flat out lie to the media? Put her entire reputation on the line for one little swipe at Bush? I haven't exactly heard George or anyone from his administration refute her accusation.
I think that comment goes both ways Steve. What gives Bush and the rest of the administration credibility other than they say things you like to hear?
Kevin, Yes Pelosi would flat out lie because there is no way to rebut her with any certainty and therefore there is no downside for her. She is a Democrat Red Meat Slinger. That is her job and she does it well. I don't think it's particularly effective because the only people who really listen to what she says are the same ones that already agree with her.
April, Whether the administration has credibility on any subject is always skewed by people's beliefs. What happened in New Orleans will be dissected by the press, congressional commitees and probably some independents. Regardless of the result, people will believe what they want. Any number of commitees have looked into the run up to the Iraq war and all have found no evidence the administration cooked the intelligence, but today people keep saying Bush lied with their only evidence being they want it to be true.
When all is said and done, I think you're going to find massive screw-ups in the local, state and federal governments. What I doubt you'll find is the conclusion that Bush was "Oblivious, in denial, dangerous".
